To start the course, basic English is enough. To work as a dispatcher you'll want an intermediate level (B1–B2). The course includes materials on professional English for dispatchers.

An independent dispatcher earns a percentage of each truck's gross: 1–2% at the start, 3–4% with experience, 4–6% for seasoned dispatchers. A truck grosses about $9–10K a week, so one truck brings roughly $400–800 a month at the start and $1,600–2,500 with experience. Income grows with the number of trucks. A salaried company dispatcher earns about $44–52K a year. This is a market guideline, not a promise: income depends on your number of trucks, the rates, and your own work.

Timing differs for everyone: it depends on your pace, your English, and how much time you put into the search. The course prepares you for your first broker call and first loads, but does not guarantee a job or income.
